To help us assess your submission, tell us why it is important that the ABS collect and produce this information, including how you would use the data.

It has become very clear to me that many grandparents (or other close relatives) do a lot of unpaid childminding while the parents are at work. It might be interesting to see what this total amounts to. It is a saving both to childminding centres in terms of staffing and infrastructure, and to the government in terms of not having to pay subsidies.
