What information would you like the ABS to collect and produce statistics on?

Please provide a brief summary of the information you would like the ABS to collect and produce statistics on.

I would like data to be collected on adopted people throughout Australia. We have no real way of knowing how many people have been affected by this. It has an intergenerational effect on families. Government should know who has been affected and they can then plan to assist them in the future.

What topic does this information most relate to? (Select one)

This has been a major topic and is of ongoing concern for adopted people throughout Australia. The apology for forced adoption was over 10 years ago but there has been no effort made for compensation or recognition.

Currently the numbers of adopted people in Australia are an estimate. This is no way to be able to create a cohesive long term solution without knowing who and how many people have been affected.

As this is an intergenerational issue we need to know who is affected and where so that communities can be provided with the assistance they need to recover.

For what purpose(s) will you use the data? (Select all that apply)
