I believe it is important for decision makers at Federal State and Local levels to better understand the levels of activity in research particularly innovation and creativity as a catalyst for ensuring Australia is amongst the worlds leading nations. The pace of change is so rapid it would be easy for our nation to become complacent and fall behind other nations therefor risking our future generations of being uncompetitive. The social and economic impact of that scenario would be significantly negative.
